Manti (Meat Patty) with Balkan Yogurt

Ingredients;

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • Salt
  • 1 egg

For the Filling;

  • 250 g ground meat (Low-Fat)
  • 1 medium-sized onion
  • Black pepper
  • Chili pepper
  • Salt

For Cooking:

  • Butter
  • Tomato sauce (2 spoons)

For the topping:

  • BALKAN Homogenized Yogurt
  • Mint
  • Sumac
  • Chili pepper

In a largish bowl, form a gap in the middle of flour and crack an egg into it, sprinkle a pinch of salt, and knead the dough by slowly adding water into it. The dough should neither be too firm or too soft. Make small lumps of dough and roll out each one until they are a little bit thicker than store-bought phyllo. Meanwhile, add red pepper, black pepper, salt and grated onion into the ground meat and knead the mixture for a while. Cut off small pieces from the ground meat and put them on the dough that you have cut in squares. Give the dough shape by folding their four corners into the middle. When the meat patties are ready, boil them for 15-20 min. Meanwhile, melt butter and fry tomato paste in a small frying pan. Add it into the boiling meat patties. Let it boil for 5 more minutes and then remove it from the stove. Dish up the patties and pour garlic yogurt sauce over them. You can serve them by sprinkling peppermint and plenty of sumacs. You may also use chili pepper if you wish. Enjoy your meal.
